Since this blog is food focused, among other things, and since this is just a cool, fun, and local story, I have to share. One local farmer has set the world record for biggest pumpkin, weighing in at over one ton! According to my questionable math, that is enough for over 500 pumpkin pies or 400 gallons of home brewed pumpkin beer!
Ron Wallace, from Greene, Rhode Island set the world record for his 2,009 pound pumpkin. WRNI has more of the story.
